Fozia Aden is a British Somali author and primary school teacher with a love for children's books. She began her teaching career in London, the city she was born and raised, before venturing to Qatar and later Saudi Arabia to broaden her horizons. During this time, Fozia embarked on the journey of motherhood and became deeply inspired to follow a new creative path. Motivated by her desire to provide meaningful lessons for her son, she recognised the need for diverse representation in children's literature. So, she decided to incorporate her cultural and religious identities into her work. Fozia's debut book, 'Khaleel’s Lesson from Surah Luqman,' aims to nurture young minds through storytelling, while celebrating Somali heritage and Islamic practices. She offers young readers the opportunity to explore a potentially different culture and gain a deeper understanding of their faith in a fun way. She is dedicated to fostering a love for learning and strives to be an inclusive voice in the world of Islamic children's literature. Fozia aims to write many books, showcasing different Muslim cultures.
