I am Masuma Begum, A Muslim, British born Bangladeshi. I am the second youngest of six siblings, five sisters and one brother. I am considered ‘The sporty, active one.’ From my early teens, I have thoroughly enjoyed children’s books but saw a gap in the market. I have dreamt of becoming an author one day. Combined with my love for running and other outdoor activities, I would like to be an example and love to encourage other young girls and women, especially from the South Asian background. I would like them to explore and enjoy the outdoors especially for its health benefits because there just simply isn’t enough from this South Asian community and this is where my first children’s book comes in.
